Alone she stood
Away from the neighbourhood
Tears in her eyes
Away from human ties

Lovers spat?
Thrown out of her flat?
She didn't say, but
She did sway

Her eyes spoke disbelief
Never seen such grief
Her words were scattered
She was so splattered

Picked up a bundle
Caught before a tumble

Gathering her nerves

She stopped the tremble

She looked down on it
Took a deep breath
Smiled gently to kiss it
And slowly walked away
